Our reclaimed elm pieces generally have a high degree of character and texture including distinctive knots, cracks, splits, timber plugs and holes. These pieces are finished with a light natural wax finish (not polyurethane) giving them a lovely patina but meaning that they need to be carefully looked after. By their nature, these solid reclaimed timber materials may be somewhat uneven and may develop small cracks and cup or bow over time due to changes in the home environment, including temperature or humidity. To clean, wipe down with a dry cloth. We suggest adding another coat of natural wax finish if you’d like more protection on the elm.
