Care Instructions
Our reclaimed elm pieces generally have a high degree of character and texture including distinctive knots, cracks, splits, timber plugs and holes. These pieces are finished with a light natural wax finish (not polyurethane) giving them a lovely patina but meaning that they need to be carefully looked after. By their nature, these solid reclaimed timber materials may be somewhat uneven and may develop small cracks and cup or bow over time due to changes in the home environment, including temperature or humidity. To clean, wipe down with a dry cloth. We suggest adding another coat of natural wax finish if you’d like more protection on the elm.

    About our Elm Furniture

Our elm pieces are crafted from reclaimed timber, each one carrying a story of its past life. Every table, sideboard, or console has natural markings, grain patterns and imperfections that make it truly unique.

    The Beauty of Reclaimed Elm

Reclaimed elm is full of warmth and texture. The timber is restored and finished to let its original character shine through. Knots, colour variations and grain lines make every piece one-of-a-kind.

Most elm tables and furniture begin with natural markings and surface cracks. These will open and close over time – this movement is part of the beauty and character of the timber.

      Natural Finish

Finished with a soft natural wax, our elm has a rich tone and tactile feel that only gets better with time.

      Tone & Texture

Because of its reclaimed nature, elm will vary in tone and texture. Each piece has subtle differences that add to its charm.

      DESIGNED TO BELONG

From pedestal tables to media units, elm suits every style – coastal, modern or classic. Furniture made to be lived with and loved.

    Caring for your elm

    Finish

Each piece is finished with a pure beeswax, giving elm a rich tone and tactile feel that only gets better with time. You can re-wax your table as often as needed, gradually building up layers of protection. The wax will deepen the colour after application, and lighten as it settles.

    Protection

Do not place hot or cold items directly on the surface – they will leave watermarks or burn marks. Always use coasters, mats or cloths to protect the timber.

    Cleaning

Do not use cleaning products or abrasive cleaners, as these will damage the finish. Instead, simply wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.

    Patina

The beauty of elm is that everyday marks are slowly absorbed into the surface, blending into its natural character over time.

    QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR ELM FURNITURE

    About the Timber

What makes your elm furniture unique?
Each piece is crafted from reclaimed elm timber, meaning no two are the same. Natural grain lines, knots and markings are part of the story and add to the charm.

Will my elm table or sideboard look exactly like the photos?
The overall tone is consistent, but every piece has its own texture and variations. These subtle differences make your furniture one-of-a-kind.

    What finish do you use?
Our elm pieces come with a light natural wax, not polyurethane. This enhances the timber’s warmth and patina, giving it a soft, tactile feel.

    Durability & Everyday Use

    How durable is reclaimed elm?
Elm is a strong hardwood built to last. Because it’s solid timber, it may develop small cracks or movement over time as it responds to your home’s temperature and humidity — this is natural and adds to its character.

Can elm furniture handle everyday family use?
Yes, elm is ideal for daily living. Using coasters and placemats will help protect the finish and keep your furniture looking its best.

    Care & Maintenance

How do I care for elm furniture?
Wipe with a dry cloth to clean. Avoid harsh cleaners and excess water. To refresh or add protection, you can apply a coat of natural wax finish as needed.
